The group is simply ecstatic on reaching their destination, which the locals have termed as -˜Hell’. The place, however, as it turns out, seems like a heaven to these teenagers, and they believe it to be the perfect place to forge a friendship or start a romance. Their ecstasy is short-lived when several squads of low-flying jets make an unexpected appearance in the night sky. They get confused but remain hopeful that nothing bad is going to happen.       On the return to their hometown of Wirrawee City, they find that everything has gone haywire.  There is no power in the house, animals and pets are dying and, most of all, and their families have been vanished. They decide to look around, and the discovery turns out to be the most burning realization of their life. The local ground has been turned into a prison camp and the entire populace is being held captive by a foreign military force.   Stuart Beattie, the director, rages a war-like atmosphere in the movie. When you watch the eight teenagers battle out an entire army, it does not for once appear preposterous. Everything is credible and the movie has the perfect mix to go down with us as a work of masterful storytelling and not a farcical piece, left to globetrot in the pool of incredulity. Chris is a lonely, depressed boy who – encompassed by those unfortunates who are involved and willing to care – withdraws from the greater number of people into his entire world of drugs (alcohol and cigarettes here), depression and poetry.

Chris Lang is into almost all activities that young people have. He also in the end has to pay for whatever he has been doing to himself.

Well-known US director, Stuart Beattie, will write and direct the Tomorrow When the War Began movie sequel. Beattie is known for his hit films like Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl, Australia, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Beattie said in one of his interviews that “I’m writing a new screenplay and they’ve just asked me to write the sequel to Tomorrow, When the War Began so I’ll be working on that as well. Usually films that are made for audiences don’t usually get recognition at an awards show so I’m totally shocked and very much appreciative. I just really wanted to make a film that would both satisfy all the people who had read and loved and obsessed over the book, which there are many, and then all the people who just wanted to see a fun film on Saturday night.
It’s a very tricky line to walk and it’s not always easy to satisfy both groups at once.”

Tomorrow When the War Began is based on a popular young adult novel series by John Marsden. It revolves around a girl named Ellie Linton and her small band of friends. They became freedom fighters to when there was an invasion and occupation of Australia by a foreign force.  The first movie Tomorrow When the War Began was one of the highest earners in Australia.

Screenwriter Stuart Beattie made his debut as a director with the big hit, Tomorrow When the War Began movie. With a budget of $20 million, this action thriller was set in a town called Wirrawee. The main plot of the movie revolves around a group of teenagers who went on a camping trip but come back to their homes to find that the country has been invaded by unknown enemies.

The Tomorrow When The War Began movie is based from the popular book with the same name by famous Australian author John Marsden. In Australia and New Zealand, the book sold over two million copies. It also became a hit in Sweden being distributed by the government to Swedish teenagers.

The much awaited sequel of Tomorrow When The War Began will start filming in September.  Majority of the shooting will be made in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley and Blue Mountains. The sequel is entitled, The Dead of the night, will be filmed and edited Down Under.

This Tomorrow When The War Began sequel will open an approximate 450 jobs for people in the area.  Apart from work, it is estimated that $40 million will be pumped into NSW economy. Thus the filming of the sequel is a much awaited event in NSW.
