Movie Review : Tomorrow, When The War Began
The movie, Tomorrow, When the War Began, was filmed in Australia and narrates how a group of teenagers handled the situation they were in. The group was bush camping when the country was invaded thus when they returned to their homes, their families were no longer there. The country was already in a state of war and that the townspeople were now prisoners of the invaders.
The Characters
One of them was spotted upon witnessing the locals being murdered by the invaders and they were hunted down. It was evident at this point that they either hide or fight back and save the townspeople. The instances that followed showed the “warrior” side of the group. There are tender moments between Ellie and Lee but this was not highlighted so much since the main tone was really on survival of the group.
The relationship between the group members as the story unfolds keeps the attention of the viewers. Each member had a level of character complexity. The characters are interesting and realistic. Acting is good and the story line is predictable but nonetheless appealing.
A Movie Worth Watching
As a conclusion, Tomorrow, When the War Began is a very entertaining movie and worthwhile of the time. It is an easy film to watch with action scenes. The story based on the book by John Marsden is appealing. There is not much difference from the book series and anyone familiar with the book will not be disappointed.
